DESIGNER NAME: Joanna Sykes
DESIGN BACKGROUND: British fashion designer Joanna Sykes graduated from Central Saint Martins with a first class honours degree in Fashion Design and Marketing in 2001. Sykes was formerly head designer for Freda at Matches and ran her own eponymous label “Sykes” for three and a half years. Her previous roles include design consultant at Giorgio Armani in Milan and womenswear designer for Alberta Ferretti and Philosophy. In July 2012 Nicole Farhi appointed Sykes as its creative director. Most recently design director at Aquascutum, was described by founder, Nicole Farhi as “the perfect appointment for the company,” adding “Nicole Farhi has always been about timeless style and effortless elegance. Jo understands these qualities and brings a fantastic eye for detail, as well as a great understanding of cut, proportion and fabrication”.
In her role as Creative Director Joanna Sykes is responsible for the design of all Nicole Farhi collections, as well as all art direction, multimedia content and overall brand image for Nicole Farhi.
